Sales Representative – State of Vermont

Bergeron Protective Clothing has a current full-time outside Sales Representative opening in the State of Vermont. We are seeking a talented, organized, and motivated sales professional to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and growing company. Since 1982 BPC has specialized in the sale and repair of Globe turnout gear and PPE to fire departments. Over the past few years we have expanded in to thermal imaging cameras, loose equipment, gas detection, gear extractors and dryers, vehicle stabilization struts, hose, nozzles, and etc. We offer a competitive salary and compensation commensurate with experience and ability.

We are looking to fill this position immediately. You will be responsible for building and developing relationships with both existing and new customers within the territory. In this role, you will handle much of the sales process from lead generation, to sales closing, and account management with the assistance of our base office in Epsom, NH. You will have the ability to control your schedule and achieve sales goals with a provided company van, laptop, and cell phone.

Duties and Responsibilities include:
-Servicing existing customers through phone and email, cold calling prospects, and fielding incoming sales requests
-Acting as a primary contact with fire departments and ensuring timely responses to communications
-Updating customer pricing and specifications on commonly used products
-Computer entry of sales and transactions
-Pick up of gear repairs
-Scheduling and attending gear fitting appointments
-Assisting with trade shows
-Technical knowledge of gear fabrics and fabric performance
-Product knowledge of turnout gear and misc. PPE, gas detection, thermal imaging camera, vehicle stabilization struts, loose equipment, gear sizing, gear extractors and dryers

Desired Qualifications:
-Previous sales experience
-A background in the fire service is a plus
-Proficiency in Windows-based applications and MS Office software products with strong computer skills
-Resourceful team-player able to manage own schedule and work independently
-Strong work ethic and professionalism
-Strong organization and prioritization skills
-Displays respect and integrity while providing exceptional customer service
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
